Encountering a Century-Old Dental Chair: The Oral Culture Project Thematic Public Welfare Exhibition of China to Shine at the Shanghai CDS Dental Expo in September
To showcase the civilization of oral industrial equipment, promote the spirit of dental craftsmanship, and inherit oral culture, the “2024 Oral Culture Project Thematic Public Welfare Exhibition of China (Shanghai Station)” will be held on September 3 at the Shanghai CDS Dental Expo. This event is co-hosted by the Oral Culture Professional Committee of the Popular Culture Society of China, the organizing committee of the Shanghai CDS Dental Expo, the World Dental Equipment Museum, and the new media platform “Oral Observation.”
The exhibition will feature a 1930s vintage foot-operated dental chair from the World Dental Equipment Museum’s collection, vividly recreating the dental industrial era and illustrating the working environment of dentists and the treatment scenarios of patients nearly a century ago. This immersive experience will allow all attendees, including dentists and professionals in the dental industry, to engage with the oral medicine environment of the past, traverse the historical timeline of dentistry, and appreciate the cultural heritage of oral medicine and the significant collections of the World Dental Equipment Museum.
The Shanghai CDS Dental Expo, fully known as the International Dental Equipment Expo of China, is a collaborative effort between the Chinese Stomatological Association and China National Pharmaceutical Group. It serves as a platform that gathers leading enterprises in the dental industry, covering the entire oral product supply chain, promoting new products and technologies, and facilitating interactive experiences to enhance brand visibility, trade procurement, and collaboration within the dental sector. The 2024 expo will take place from September 3 to 6 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Over 400 dental equipment companies will exhibit across 60,000 square meters, attracting more than 35,000 professional attendees for product purchases, conference activities, and learning about new products and technologies.
A representative from the Shanghai CDS Dental Expo organizing committee stated that the joint hosting of the 2024 Oral Culture Project Thematic Public Welfare Exhibition of China aims to create an immersive cultural exchange platform for dental industry attendees, innovating the format of dental exhibitions by integrating technology and culture, injecting cultural value and motivation into the field of dentistry, enhancing the cultural literacy of dental professionals, and enriching the cultural connotation of the dental expo.
